Since 2015 the KLOCA has had an agreement with the County of Haliburton under which we committed to have a team of volunteers clean litter and trash from the roadside of Kennisis Lake Road from Caboodle Lane north to just past Wilkinson Road where the County’s responsibility for the road ends. Initially the work was done twice per year but more recently we find it best to do the clean up in the Spring when the litter is most visible. Each winter our organizers work with the County to set a date and then advertise for volunteers to help complete the work. It is a great chance to meet some new people and help beautify the road we all travel to reach our cottages.
The County recognizes our efforts with signage along the road. The KLCOA is very grateful to the dozens of volunteers who have helped out with an hour or two of their time. A special thanks to those who seem to be there every year rain or shine.
Watch late each winter for the date and sign up to help out.
