Summer Church Schedule 2010
Kennisis Lakes Cottagers;
“It is with regret that I announce the closing of services of the Kennisis Summer Church effective immediately.
The closing concludes a tradition of over 50 years of providing non-denominational Christian worship services on Sunday mornings during July and August. When I came to the Lake in 1978, services were being held in a boat house at the Marina. Later services were moved to the Boiler Room building at the Wildlife and then to the Seminar Building. Services originated out of the KLCOA. In fact the chairs used for services and association meetings were purchased jointly.
Making worship services available to cottagers and their summer guests was a welcome convenience, saving travel to West Guilford and Haliburton Village. The services provided an excellent opportunity to meet other cottagers and filled a need while away from their home churches.”
