Sailboat On The Water
THE KLCOA SWIMMING PROGRAMME was a huge success this year with 69 children taking lessons.  Once again this programme paid for itself. The instructors were really happy and all indications point towards their return next year.

THE ROCK BASS TOURNAMENT also was a success although participation was down.  We hope to have more people involved next year.

As usual THE KLCOA REGATTA/FUN DAY was well attended and, of course, was well-run, thanks to the dedication of our wonderful volunteers.  There’s always the possibility of some minor glitches, but all-in-all this is a huge undertaking and I know I speak for the community when I express my thanks for a really impressive job.

Finally, THE SAILING REGATTA was well attended and all participants had a great day.  Once again we’re going to try to implement the BOOM SAILING PROGRAMME. Pete Sulman has submitted the following report:

BOOM SAILING FOR CHILDREN 7 – 13

We are planning to register with the Ontario Sailing Association for a BOOM programme either the first or second week in August, and not to conflict with the Wildlife children’s programme.  BOOM is a one-week programme from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at a cost of $130.00.  A maximum of 20 children can participate.

WE NEED A COMMITMENT OF AT LEAST 10 CHILDREN SIGNED UP BY FEBRUARY 1, 2001.

Please mail your “request to register” plus ½ the fee ($65.00) to
